I photograph in grey so the eye has nowhere to hide.

Colour tells you what a thing is. Grey tells you what it weighs. I work only in black and white because it strips a scene down to structure, tone, and time, and asks you to feel the picture before you name it. Every print is made by hand on fibre paper, dodged and burned in a darkroom, and editioned to twenty-five. Nothing here was corrected on a screen. It was decided under red light.
